Hey!!
I have created a blog for te3.. Jus to hav some identity of our own class!!
I guess it would be fun to share our thoughts, information, assignments, papers(with solutions :P),or it can be even songs, bunking plans,etc!!

    solve the question...

    Today is Basanti’s birthday, and Ali wants to give her a gift playing the following game. The numbers 0, 1, 2,… , 1024 are written on a blackboard. First Basanti erases 512 numbers, then Ali erases 256 numbers, then Basanti 128 and so on, until there are only two numbers a, b left. Now Basanti earns a gift of worth |a – b| rupees. Find the maximum number of rupees that Basanti can always win, independently of Ali’s strategy who wants to spend least amount on the gift.

    @sumaer:ali will remove the no.s from the back to reduce the difference b/w two no.s..but basanti will always try to insrease the difference betweeen 2 no.s.. she gets 5 chances to remove 512,128,32,8&2 no.s.if she removes the alternate no.s finally d the remaining no.s will always differ by 2*2*2*2*2=32.try it

    ANOTHER WAY OF SOLVING PROBLEBM-

    First reduce the pbm to solve....
    Take nos. 0 1 2 3 4
    Here Basanti gets 2 chances and Ali 1.
    So now check in only 1 case u will get the diff. as 2 independant of ali's strategy..
    [CASE-Basanti selects (1,3)]
    So formulae became 2^(no. of basanti chances)
    In given case chances r 5.So 2^5=32
    ANS=32

    an arrow is shot at a board 100 meters away at 100m/s such that the speed of d arrow becomes half after 50m then 1/4 th after 75m nd so on...how long will it take to reach the board???
